About the School Curriculum Welfare Network
Cowra High School is a comprehensive, co-educational high school with an enrolment of approximately 800 students. The school receives strong community support for its wide variety of school-based activities and initiatives.
Close community links have also been developed through a long-standing student exchange program with Seikei High School in Tokyo, other student exchanges and cultural visits.
Cowra High School has a well-structured and caring student welfare network and is committed to Aboriginal education.
The school offers progressive educational programs which are developed and delivered by its well-qualified, enthusiastic and committed staff.

Cowra High School offers a broad, stimulating and challenging curriculum. In addition to the core curriculum areas of English, Mathematics, Science and human Society and Its Environment, students are able to study subjects in a wide range of elective areas. Special Education
Cowra High School caters for the needs of students with special education needs through its Special Education program. The program provides support for students, integrating them into whole-school curriculum areas.
Vocational Education
Vocational Education is given a strong emphasis in the school's curriculum. Subjects such as Hospitality; Metals and Engineering; and Viticulture equip students with the skills required to successfully enter the work force.
Tafe-Linked Courses
The school also offers a variety of Tafe-Linked courses in areas such as Accountancy; Automotive Systems and Services; and Office Studies to broaden student options.
HSC Pathways
Students are able to complete their Higher School Certificate over a five year period. This approach may be useful for people in part-time employment or for mature age students.
At Cowra High School our focus is on ensuring that all students realise their potential. To promote this aim our welfare network operates for all members of the school:

- Aboriginal students enjoy the support of an effective Aboriginal Education Assistant.
- Senior students are assisted by a "buddy teacher" through the 10% On Top scheme.
- An effective Student Welfare Committee ensures that a caring environment meets the needs of students experiencing difficulties.
- Our best students are encouraged and recognised with positive levels while a discipline network, and alternate programs assist students accept responsibility for their actions and improve behaviour.
